Série Famous Men of Colombia - José Joaquin Casas (1866-1951), educator José Joaquín Casas Castañeda was a Colombian politician, writer and educator, born in Chiquinquirá on 23 February 1866 and died in Bogotá on 8 October 1951. He was elected Minister of National Education between 1901 and 1903, founder of the Colombian Academy of History in the year 1902, the Academy of Physical and Exact sciences, the Academy of Education, the Caro Academy and others .
